Menstrual Hygiene Awareness and Puberty Education

OCDI CEO and Program Manager visited one of the secondary schools in Kwara State to sensitize girls on menstrual hygiene and puberty, marking a crucial step towards creating a healthier and more informed future.

Menstruation is a natural part of life, yet many girls face stigma, shame, and misinformation. OCDI engaged with students dispelling myths and promoting best practices for menstrual hygiene management and puberty awareness.

INTERNATIONAL ADOLESCENT HEALTH WEEK COMMEMORATION

In commemoration of International Adolescent Health Week, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, partnered with Olive Community Development Initiative and other members of Novel Association for Youth Advocacy, to carry out sensitisation on adolescent health issues, bothering on their mental health, experience of gender based violence, menstrual hygiene, nutrition, , and Covid-19 at Ilorin Grammar School, on the 22nd of March 2022.

PROMOTING ADOLESCENT AND YOUTH REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RIGHTS.

  A NETWORK OF CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS PROMOTING ADOLESCENT AND YOUTH REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RIGHTS.
Novel association for youth advocacy (NAYA) which OCDI belong to has urged the kwara state government to create a specific budget line for adolescent youth friendly health services during a media briefing held at OCDI conference hall on Friday 20th of August, 2021 to disseminate facts and findings on adolescent youth friendly health services.
The meeting had in attendance the Kwara State Primary Health Care Adolescent Health Coordinator, and the family planning coordinator SMOH, Ilorin.
