HIGH LEVEL STAKEHOLDERS MEETING FOR ADVOCACY AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE VAPP LAW

On 22^nd June, OCDI partnered with the ministry of women Affairs and social development to organize a high-level stakeholder meeting for the gazetting and implementation of VAPP LAW.

The meeting had in attendance the commissioner of women affairs and social development, the permanent secretary, ministry of women affair, director women affair, representative from ministry of communication, ministry tertiary education, ministry of justice kwara state PPRO, kwara state police officer in charge, NSCDC, desk officer Gender, NOA, WOMICAN and CSOs working on GBV, NHRC to mention a few.

A DAY WORKSHOP WITH STAKEHOLDERS ON WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY IN KWARA STATE

OCDI yesterday 9th of November, 2021 held a 1 day workshop for the committee on Women Peace and Security in Kwara State saddled with the responsibility of developing a State Action plan on implementing UNSCR 1325 resolution on Women, Peace and Security in Kwara State.

The meeting had in attendance stakeholders from different Ministries and Agencies working on ensuring Peace and Security in Kwara State and everyone enlisted their commitment in doing their part to ensure that women are actively involved in peace and security in the State.

GBV STATE LEVEL DATA COORDINATION MEETING

A data capturing tool developed by OCDI, was presented to the kwara state ministry of women affairs and social development during the data coordination meeting held at the Ministry of Social Development on the 28th of July, 2021, with the support of Global Affairs Canada through Action-Aid Nigeria.
