16 Days of Activism

OCDI, as a member of the National Coalition of Civil Society to End Child Marriage, and in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs,  visited Warrah Oja Secondary School to commemorate the 16 Days of Activism. During the event, we engaged students, teachers, and the school counselor in a discussion on ending violence against women and girls.

ACTIONAID ANNUAL PLANNING MEETING IN ABUJA

ActionAid annual planning meeting for Women's Voice & Leadership Nigeria Project in partnership with ActionAid Nigeria funded. The project is aimed at tackling barriers to gender equality & supporting the empowerment of women & girls through the provision of financial and technical resources to local feminist/women's rights organisations in Nigeria.

OLIVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE MEETING WITH SECURITY PERSONNEL AT IREPODUN SECRETARIAT

On Tuesday 24th, January 2023, Olive Community Development Initiative had a meeting with security personnel at Irepodun secretariat.

The aim of the meeting was to interact with the security personnel about security issues in their community.

Police officers, Civil defence, Vigilantes, Desk officers from Ilorin South and Irepodun were present.

The security personnel were all trained on case management and the effective way of storing data.

OCDI MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF OBAS, CHIEFS, WOMEN LEADERS, SECURITY GROUPS AND RFELIGIOUS LEADERS

Olive Community Development Initiatives had a town hall meeting at Iludun in Oro, Kwara State on Friday, 20th January 2023. The representatives of Obas, Chiefs,Religious leaders, Women leaders, vigilante groups and youth leaders were present at the meeting.

The aim of the meeting was to give women the opportunity to talk about security issues in their community and also let them know their role in terms of peace keeping, conflict resolution and challenges women face during conflict.

SENSITIZATION ON GENDER BASED VIOLENCE FOR ADOLESCENT GIRLS AT ILUDUN ANGLICAN GIRLS SCHOOL, ORO KWARA STATE

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual, global campaign challenging violence against women and girls.

Olive Community Development Initiatives with the support of ActionAid Nigeria funded by Global Affairs Canada organised a sensitization program for adolescent girls of Iludun Anglican Girls College Oro, Kwara State.

The program which started by 11pm on Friday 25th November, 2022 and focused more on the awareness of Gender-Based violence and examples of Gender-Based violence.

Non-Health Sector Tools Training organized by National Agency for the Control of Aids

Olive Community Development Initiatives attended a 5-Days training from Monday 7th to Friday 11th November, 2022 was organized by National Agency for the Control of Aids in G-Pinanncle Hotel Ilorin, Kwara State. It was a Non- Health Sector training which focus on the use of data collections tools for Gender based violence, HIV, health, vulnerable children, household care and educational performance of vulnerable children being enrolled in schools and how to use these tools on the field.
