Mentoring and Monitoring of Community Facilitators HIV testing and Counselling of FSWs in Eyenkorin, Asa LGA

Global Fund supporting FHI 360 implemented a National Aligned HIV & AIDS Initiative (NAHI) Grant which focuses on HIV prevention, treatment and care programs targeting the General & Key Populations in 17 Nigerian States in which Kwara State is part of the state through Society for Family Health (SFH).

One of the interventions aimed at delivering priority services to key populations is One Stop Shop (OSS).

The main objective of the program is to provide comprehensive community-based HIV Service Package including prevention, care and support, referrals and linkages to treatment services in the One-Stop-Shop (OSS) to key populations (FSW, MSM, PWID, TG, AGY and PI). One core strategy of the grant is the provision of HIV testing services to community members and linking all the identified positive key population to treatment and care in the OSS or in the community using CART Teams.

Olive Community Development Initiative (CBO) is a CBO in Kwara state started HIV testing services for female sex workers, through peer-to-peer testing approach across different Local Government Areas of Kwara State, while identified HIV Positive FSWs and individuals who require Pre-Exposure Prophylaxes or STI treatment are linked to appropriate services at the One-Stop-Shop (OSS) operated by Society for Family Health (SFH).

Representatives from FHI360 visited a community on Friday, 19th May 2022 at Eyenkorin, Asa LGA to monitor the community facilitators counselling and testing of FSWs, the community facilitators are being coordinated by the CBO; OCDI.
