International day of the girl child themed "Our time is now -Our rights, Our future" chosen this year by UNCEF is  recognised on October 11 which focuses on empowering girls, amplifying their voices, recognising their rights and the unique challenges they face around the world. Also, it aims on creating awareness about the right a girl owns,  gives them the opportunity like everyone else, support and limit gender based challenges that little girls face around the world which include; child marriages, poor learning opportunities, violence and discrimination.
This international Girl Child day, be proud of a girl child, they are the ones  who are made up of courage, determination, sacrifice, commitment, talent and love.
