OCDI Marks International Day of Peace with Students in Asa LGA

On September 22nd, Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI) visited Police Secondary School, Asa Local Government Area, to commemorate the International Day of Peace through an interactive dialogue session with female students.

The room was filled with brilliant young girls, each ready to share her own understanding of peace.

“Peace means I can focus on my studies.”

“Peace is safety for my family.”

“Without peace, my community cannot grow.”

These powerful statements remind us that peace is not just a global vision—it is personal. For these students, peace begins with safety, stability, and the freedom to learn and dream. Through the session, the girls were encouraged to see themselves as active contributors to peace, capable of influencing their classrooms and communities through kindness, respect, and responsible leadership.

At OCDI, we believe that empowering girls is a direct investment in building peaceful and inclusive communities. Each conversation, safe space, and learning opportunity is a step toward lasting change.

When girls rise for peace, communities become stronger.
