MY BODY IS MY BODY SENSITIZATION

#MYBODYISMYBODY# The earlier we can teach children about the subject of ''Body Safety'' the better, as the consequences of child abuse for the affected child and for society as a whole are substantial, and education is one of the best ways to prevent this from happening. Child sexual abuse, also called child molestation, is a form of child abuse in which an adult or older adolescent uses a child for sexual stimulation. OLIVE GIRL CHILD SUPPORT PROGRAM (OLIVE-GSP)

It was great today 6th of March 2019, as OCDI was at Sheik Abdulquadir College Ilorin, Kwara State. To sensitize the female students on Issues that affects females i.e (Positive and High Self Esteem, Adolescent/Adolescence, Sexual Reproductive Health and Sexual Abuse). The event was fun filled with several activities for them. In attendance were female staffs and students of the school, who gave examples of life experiences relating to each topics been discussed. Overall it was apparent that lives has indeed been impacted Positively.

Zero Tolerance Against Female Genital Mutilation.

Today, 7th February, 2019, student of social work on practicum at Olive Community Development Initiative carried out a sensitization program on the dangers in the practice of female genital mutilation and personal and sexual hygiene at Owode Oja Community as a requirement of their practicum. The program was carried out in commemoration with international day of zero tolerance against female genital mutilation.

OLIVE SENSITIZATION ON RESILIENCE AND SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RIGHTS

On the 25th of January, OCDI was at Lasoju Comprehensive High School and Government Day Secondary School Otte, Kwara State Nigeria, to educate the students on Resilience Building to shocks and stress as a vital tool in ensuring sustainable advancement from poverty, using the body mapping tool, stress and shocks which the students had encountered where discovered and proper solutions to some where discussed. OLIVE GIRL CHILD SUMMIT AUGUST 2018

 Olive Community Development Initiative announces its first GIRL CHILD SUMMIT, starting from August 6th - 8th 2018,this year we will be focusing on life building skills such as decision making, Goal setting, refusal, assertiveness skills, self esteem and adolescent reproductive health. This will be done through mentorship by female experts in various fields, gender equality experts, training in community-building and advocacy, skills acquisition among others. The Summit strives to empower, educate and embolden the potential of every Girl child present.
